In 2014, Khentrul Lodrö T’hayé Rinpoche established a program for his students and practice groups called Compassion in Action. As he said, “Being Buddhist doesn’t just mean sitting on a cushion. The purpose of sitting is to develop our positive qualities in order to benefit others.” Compassion in Action’s two main goals are to help others in our communities and to do this together as a sangha in order to build our sense of community among practitioners. Some of our Kauai Compassion in Action activities are shown below as we help inspire one another to greater and greater acts of compassion. |
What's our Motivation? How many of our thoughts are genuinely motivated by the compassionate wish to benefit others or the wisdom to pursue the ultimate goal of enlightenment? ” Khentrul Rinpoche, from the Power of Mind. |
